Public Strategies Overview
Public Strategies (PS) is a nationally respected consulting, project management, and marketing firm based in Oklahoma City. We provide innovative solutions for federal, state, and local clients, including project and program management, training and technical assistance, technology, event management, research and evaluation, video production, and strategic communications. Position Summary
Educators facilitate workshop content as well as large and small group activities on a flexible schedule that may include weekends and evenings for Work Ready Oklahoma. Work Ready Oklahoma (WRO) is a best practices workforce development initiative led by Public Strategies and key partners. WRO serves a number of populations including veterans, the long-term unemployed, historically underemployed, individuals with a criminal background including those re-entering society from incarceration, incumbent workers, low skilled or wage workers, and individuals receiving public assistance such as SNAP and TANF benefits.
Educators must demonstrate excellent presentation and people skills and a willingness to lead dynamic workshops. WRO programs aim to demonstrate the value and efficacy of well-thought approaches to incorporating soft skills, vocational training, continuing education, job placement, job coaching, and career advancement in ways that make obtaining consistent gainful employment in areas that pay a living wage more accessible to these groups.
Essential Job Functions
Lead dynamic workshops for program participants
Lead small group activities and individual discussions that reinforce workshop content and generate insight into continued learning
Attend and participate at planning meetings and additional training sessions, as needed
Assist with content generation, presentation development and activity planning as needed
Maintain workshop data, including attendance rosters, evaluations, and other reporting documents, as needed
Provide feedback to program staff and leaders on participants response to the workshop content and activities
Encourage participants to seek one-on-one sessions with their Case Manager, Navigator, Career Coach or Employment Coordinator and provide referrals to these parties, as needed
Participate in service planning discussions with program staff as needed to facilitate barrier removal for participants
Assist with other activities that help program participants with job search and learning activities, as needed
Other duties as assigned
Education/Training
Bachelors Degree, required
Strong history of education/training in the areas of adult learning and/or the facilitation of educational programs for adults a plus, and such training may be considered in lieu of other educational requirements
Experience
. Demonstration of exceptional speaking and presentation delivery skills, required
Special Requirements
Ability to consistently work flexible hours – on weeknights and weekends; ideal candidates will commit to a regular teaching schedule of twice weekly
Must be able to form strong connections with other people and have an understanding of and compassion for the lives of low-income families
Essential Physical Requirements
Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility. Ability to be mobile throughout the community.
