Position Summary
The Training System Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the planning, development, and execution of programs and projects, or critical elements of larger projects focused on the development of hard skills training certifications and career building opportunities. This work will include Training and Technical Assistance (TTA), and/or research projects in areas of primary and secondary education, workforce development, job training and college access. This individual will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining a structured system for low-income families and other underserved or marginalized populations to access training resulting in an industry-recognized credential (IRC). Training will focus on sector-based career pathway progression in connection to market-informed employment opportunities. The Training System Manager will supervise project staff in addition to collaborating closely with other Managers and Directors to manage project resources and activities across departments and teams. The position requires particular attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and dependability.
Essential Job Functions
Manage the creation/development, assessment, planning, and implementation of programs and special projects
Provide organizational leadership to projects, including management of priorities, timelines, and deadlines
Develop and maintain relationships with educational institutions, staying up to date on existing and new course offerings and programs as well as pursuing the development of customized training programs and courses according to market demand
Manage coordination of data capture and develop reporting tools to measure impact and outcomes related to agree upon success metrics and deliverables
Manage coordination across programs to improve internal processes for messaging and referral related to career pathway training and employment opportunities
Supervise team members in developing, organizing, and disseminating project materials
Develop and coordinate activities for paid work experience, internships, apprenticeships, and additional work-based learning training models.
Manage the planning process and development of action plans for projects
Monitor program progress and deliverables as needed
Manage coordination with Marketing and Communications Department to ensure deliverables are produced meeting project timelines and expectations
Apply subject matter expertise to TTA activities and direct service implementation
Participate in business development projects, as needed
Other duties as assigned
Education/Training
Masters Degree, required
Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or documented expertise in a relevant field in lieu of a Masters will be considered
Applicable fields and disciplines include adult education and training, business, social sciences, humanities, public administration, public policy, education, not-for-profit management, and related fields.
Experience
Five years of relevant work experience in adult education and training, project management, project planning, program operations and management, or strategic planning, research and/or policy, required
Relevant experience may include social service program delivery, including relationship education; programs related to Industry Recognized Credential (IRC) training, grant writing; program development; curriculum development; dissemination; working for or with government agencies; and, working for a not-for-profit organization
Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills and ability to effectively to translate research into practice for wide dissemination, required
Experience working on large scale, multi-dimensional projects involving multiple partner organizations, government contracts and competing priorities, strongly preferred
Proven grant or proposal writing skills, preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; mastery level knowledge and experience, preferred
Special Requirements
Moderate domestic travel, including by air
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
Personable, a critical thinker, initiative-taking, hard-working, detail-oriented and flexible. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
Essential Physical Requirements
Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility. Ability to be mobile throughout the community.
