The Communication Coach works one-on-one to help couples participating in Family Expectations (FE) practice the Speaker Listener Technique during class. The position is responsible for creating a warm and collaborative environment in which couples feel at ease to practice the skills.

Position Summary
Greet couples and introduced self
Explain the objective of the coaching session is to practice the Speaker-Listener technique and the approximate length of the coaching session
Coach the couple in the correct use of the technique, giving equal time to both parents
At the end of the session:
Thank the couple for their work and remind them to speak to their Family Support Coordinator (FSC), if additional assistance is needed with the skill they have learned
Complete a Communication Coach Feedback Form for each couple with whom they worked
Submit completed form(s) to a Family Life Educator (FLE)

Experience
Prior experience working with Oklahoma Marriage Initiative (OMI) for Family Expectations (FE), a plus.
Special Requirements
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to attend Communication Coach Training
Bilingual strongly preferred; excellent verbal and written communications skills in both English and Spanish
Essential Physical Requirements
Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility. Ability to be mobile throughout the community.
