The social media coordinator will create, produce, implement and evaluate digital strategy campaigns to keep SoonerCare members, health care providers and other key stakeholders abreast of SoonerCare program changes, preventive benefits, key public health messages and more. Platforms may include, but are not limited to OHCA and Oklahoma State Department of Health social media channels, newsletters, other agency publications and public websites. This is achieved primarily by serving as a project manager, communications consultant and copywriter/copy editor.
*Develop and edit digital and print content to ensure clarity and accuracy, consistency with branding standards (logos, formats and colors) and compliance. Write and provide copy editing for grammar and style.
*Develop, edit and monitor content for agency digital media channels, maintaining sensitivity to appropriate literacy levels and varying cultures of targeted audiences.
*Assist in development, implementation and evaluation of digital communication strategies and objectives.
*Ensure digital communication strategies are aligned with target audiences in terms of reach and effectiveness.
*Develops strategic communications plans for agency initiatives, as needed.
*Collaborate with communications teams from partner health agencies to align strategies and share messaging.
*Serves as project manager for electronic newsletters, which includes research, writing, copy editing, mailing list maintenance, scheduling and email distribution.
*Ghostwrites, edits, facilitates and develops blogs, brochures, web content, agency letters and articles for health care publications, and other written materials on behalf of the agency.
*Assists in developing presentations (e.g., PowerPoints) for staff.
*Effectively communicates scientific and technical information to a diverse and wide audience.
*Serves as project manager for publications, developing content, working with agency staff and coordinating timelines.
*Reviews design, edits and proofreads draft collaterals. Examines, checks and verifies communications for completeness, appropriateness and quality prior to printing or distribution.
*Ensures communication strategies align with target audiences in terms of reach and effectiveness, as defined by key performance metrics, benchmarks or
*Maintain agency brand standards to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency and alignment with agency strategic goals and objectives.
*Writes and edits copy in accordance with AP style.
*Other duties as assigned
TRAVEL: Travel in and out of state on an as needed basis.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE:
*Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or a closely related field AND
*Two (2) years professional-level experience in marketing, communications or public relations including experience developing social media for business or agency purposes OR
*Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six (6) years.
PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH:
*Experience with health care or health promotion campaigns
*Experience with development, design, management of social media sites
*Experience and/or training with videography and photography
