The idea of Topgolf began on a driving range, where two brothers were practicing their swings. As boredom took hold, the brothers began brainstorming ways they could liven up their range experience and improve their skills at the same time. Why wasn’t there a place where they could work on their game and have the best time of their lives? That was in 2000, and now Topgolf has taken the country by storm!
The Oklahoma City American Marketing Association (AMAOKC) will be hosting April Leonard, Director of Marketing for Topgolf. April handles all the marketing campaigns for Topgolf and is instrumental in the process of opening new Topgolf locations across the country.
Before Topgolf decides to enters communities like Oklahoma City, Las Vegas and Atlanta, a lot of research is conducted. April’s presentation “Strategic Expansion: How Topgolf Enters New Markets” will focus on Topgolf’s research techniques and how that is translated into marketing plans and some of their unique marketing efforts.
Topgolf exists to entertain their guests and this meeting will be no exception!
April Leonard, Director of Marketing April joined Topgolf in November 2012. April overseas all the marketing campaigns for Topgolf, in addition to handing all of the marketing efforts from ground breaking to ribbon cutting for all of the new Topgolf openings. In her brief three years at Topgolf, April has successfully launched the Topgolf KidZone program, as well as the Topgolf Summer Academy which provides summer golf instruction for over 1500 children throughout the summer
