“Keeping it Real Even When it’s Not (Yet): Placemaking and the Art of Building a Brand Before You Break Ground”
You know the Ferris Wheel, the manhole covers, the hammocks, the outdoor concerts and the food trucks? They’re all crucial parts of the Wheeler District’s ever-expanding brand. As Director of Public Life, Ashley Terry has been essential to guiding that brand from nothing into something. Along the way, she’s thought a lot about the risks and rewards of building an aspirational brand before there’s a physical product behind it. In this intimate conversation, Ashley will share her experiences, tips and lessons learned about how to keep it real – even when it’s not (yet).
