Get Real: How Acknowledging Your Fears, Fails, and Flaws Actually Strengthens Your Brand
In both big brands and small, we’re seeing a new trend of authenticity: brands choosing to be radically transparent, honest, and vulnerable as a response to increasing skepticism from consumers. And we’re seeing a real blowback when brands aren’t – or when they’re caught being inconsistent or inauthentic. On a personal level, social media and smartphone culture means that the days of hiding and pretending, especially for high-profile brands, are behind us. This month’s guest, Anna Wickham, has redefined herself on a foundation of authenticity and used it to grow her own brand from the ground up. Marketing expert turned life coach, Anna has chosen to share her story, especially the failures and flaws, in order to show her audience that they can have fulfillment and happiness no matter what their story or situation.
In this session, you’ll learn:
- How to use authenticity correctly in your brand’s messaging without doing irreversible damage.
- How to be real in your personal and professional life when applying for jobs, sharing on social media, and maintaining a professional persona, without derailing opportunities or losing face.
- Finally, how to own your own failures and flaws so that you can show up everywhere in your life with more confidence and more to offer those around you.
About the Speaker:
Anna Wickham is a career and life coach, helping people find the passionate, fulfilled life and career they deserve. Most of her clients are interested in living an extraordinary unconventional life on their own terms and making an impact. Anna has been bucking the system since she was old enough to. She has backpacked all over South America, Asia, and Europe, sold everything and moved to Asia (twice), started her own fully remote business, and spends her time spreading the good news that you are meant to wake up excited every day instead of defeated. She has been featured in Business Insider, BBC.com, Elite Daily, Thrive Global, and more.
